The 5th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2025) is scheduled to be held in Chongqing, China, in October 2025. The theme of this upcoming symposium is "Water, Climate Change, and Engineering Solutions for Megacities". It aims to serve as a multidisciplinary platform for global researchers to share insights and discuss the latest scientific advancements in water disaster prevention and ecosystem-based adaptation. This is particularly important in the face of the growing uncertainties and challenges climate change poses in megacities. This event will offer a unique opportunity for scientists to present their latest discoveries, innovative strategies, and best practices for enhancing resilience against water disasters, water pollution, and ecosystem degradation to climate variability and promoting sustainable development in the world’s megacities. The WDWE2025 will be co-organized by the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIGIT-CAS), and State Key Laboratory of Hydraulics and Mountain River Engineering, Sichuan University. It will be supported by Chongqing Jiaotong University and also receive support and guidance from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Hydrological Program (UNESCO-IHP) and the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).
